Valdez Ski Report – December 13, 2015

Good ski condition remain in Thompson Pass with some winded surfaces nearer the Gap and at higher elevations. Some light snow moving in tonight through Monday and then better snow accumulations Tuesday night and then occasional snowshowers throughout the week. Winds remain generally light and variable. Temps rising to near 30 as the week progresses. Less clouds and snow north of Pass with Cracked Ice northward improving and skiable. With flat light conditions developing, south aspects will be the best bet as new snows covers old tracks once again.

Not much hazard of brush on Valdez Glacier Lake as Tabitha and I did a hustling, light tour among the icebergs dotting the lake hiking up and over number of the frozen features. 10″ of light powder over thick ice made for ideal touring conditions.
